The family-friendly Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area is situated in the Lake Reschensee holiday region in Upper Vinschgau, South Tyrol. The area is situated above Reschen/Resia and St. Valentin auf der Haide, near the Reschen Pass, and offers mountain experiences in the border triangle between Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

You can easily reach the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area by car, train or bus. Take the Vinschgau railway to Mals station; bus routes 273 and 276 depart from there. In addition, a free ski bus runs daily during the winter. You can reach the area by car via the Reschen Pass or the Vinschgau national road.

Winter
The ski lifts to the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area are open daily from early December to mid-April, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Summer
The lifts to the Schöneben-Haideralm cycling and hiking area are open daily from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm during the summer, from the end of May to mid-October.

Yes, free parking is available at both valley stations of the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area. It is also possible to stay overnight at the Piz-Schöneben car park in Reschen. In this case, you will need to pay the visitor’s tax; you can register at the ticket office. The following rates apply:

Overnight parking is prohibited in the car park at the valley station in St. Valentin auf der Haide.

No, there are no charging points for electric cars at the valley stations in Reschen and St. Valentin auf der Haide. The nearest charging station is in Graun/Curon Venosta in the Vinschgau Valley, about 6 kilometres away.

The Schöneben-Haideralm ski resort offers a total of 65 kilometres of slopes. Thanks to the “Zwei-Länder-Skiarena” network, you also have access to a total of 159 kilometres of slopes.

The Zwei-Länder-Skiarena is an association of the Nauders, Schöneben-Haideralm and Watles ski resorts. With the cross-border ski pass, you have access to a total of 159 kilometres of slopes and 41 ski lifts. Ski passes for the Zwei-Länder-Skiarena can be purchased at all three ski resorts.

The Südtirol Ski Arena (formerly the Ortler Ski Arena) is a ski association comprising 18 ski resorts in South Tyrol, Austria and Switzerland. With a single ski pass, you have access to a total of 500 kilometres of slopes, including the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area.

Schöneben+ is a ski pass for the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area which, for passes valid for two days or more, also includes one day’s skiing in one of the partner ski areas, Watles or Sulden/Solda.

The Schöneben-Haideralm ski resort features “Schönis Kinderland”, with magic carpets, a play paradise and educational programmes, right next to the top station of the Piz-Schöneben cable car. There is also the gold-award-winning Ski School Reschenpass, which offers specialised children’s ski courses, childcare and family-friendly slopes.

The ski season at the Schöneben-Haideralm ski resort begins in early December and ends in mid-April.

Yes, there is the multi-award-winning Schöneben Snowpark, as well as a funline, an action cross course and a race track with timekeeping. The snow park is situated in the centre of the ski resort and is divided into a beginners’ area, a medium kicker line and a pro line.

The programme includes courses for beginners and advanced skiers, technique training, carving and private lessons with professional ski instructors.

Yes, the Ski School Reschenpass is one of the few specialist children’s ski schools in South Tyrol Gold and offers special ski courses for children. Right next to the top station of the Piz-Schöneben cable car, Schönis Kinderland offers a children’s ski nursery and an outdoor playground.

The following safety regulations and rules of conduct apply on the trails:

  • Always ride at a controlled speed and within half your field of vision so that you can react to obstacles such as stones, animals or vehicles.
  • Be considerate of walkers and only overtake them at walking pace.
  • Be honest when assessing your skills and experience, and take note of the route’s level of difficulty.
  •  Always wear a helmet and check your equipment (brakes, lights, bell) before every ride.
  • Wearing protective gear and a back protector is strongly recommended.
  •  When exploring new trails for the first time (pre-ride), ride at a moderate pace and anticipate what lies ahead.

Tickets can be purchased online via the web shop, as well as in person at the ticket offices and from ticket machines in Reschen and St. Valentin auf der Haide. The ticket offices are open daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Yes, in Italy, skiers and snowboarders have been required to have valid third-party liability insurance since 1 January 2022. The insurance must cover liability for damage to third parties and proof of cover must be provided on request. Third-party liability insurance is not included in the price of the ski pass. You can take out liability insurance for individual days at our ticket offices in Reschen and St. Valentin auf der Haide, as well as in our online shop.

Yes, there is a wide range of multi-day passes available for the Schöneben-Haideralm ski resort and for the Zwei-Länder-Skiarena network. These are available for periods ranging from 2 to 14 days. There are also flexible season tickets, and in summer there are special offers such as the 3-Länder Card or the 3-Länder Card Bike, valid for several days.

Yes, there are reduced fares for children, young people and senior citizens. Please refer to the current price list for the applicable age groups and prices.

Yes, as well as the attractive children’s discounts, there is also a large family ski pass available in winter for families with three or more children, valid for two days or more. This is available exclusively at the checkout. You must provide your ID and relevant documentation for the children.

No, it is not possible to amend a ticket once it has been purchased. However, when buying online, you can take out cancellation cover, which allows you to cancel free of charge up to four days before the first day of validity. Unless this insurance is taken out, cancellation is generally not permitted. A refund is only possible in the case of skiing accidents or other accidents supported by a doctor’s certificate; it is not available in the case of illness.

No, ski passes are not refunded in the Schöneben-Haideralm ski resort in the event of illness. A refund is only possible in the case of skiing accidents, provided there is a doctor’s certificate and valid insurance cover. The refund does not apply to family members or accompanying persons.

No, unused days on multi-day ski passes are generally not refunded. However, in the event of a skiing accident, the injured person may be reimbursed for any days not yet used. To do so, a corresponding application, accompanied by a doctor’s certificate, a ski pass and proof of identity, must be submitted within 15 days. Accompanying persons are not entitled to a refund.

Lost or forgotten ski passes cannot be replaced. Refunds or exchanges after purchase are generally not permitted.

The 3-Länder Card is a cross-border loyalty card for the tri-border region between Italy, Austria and Switzerland. It offers free travel on buses and seven cable cars (including the Piz-Schöneben cable car and the Haideralmbahn), as well as free entry to museums and themed attractions in Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

The 3-Länder Card Bike is a cross-border discount card for mountain bikers at Lake Reschensee. It offers free use of seven mountain cable cars (including the Piz-Schöneben cable car and the Haideralmbahn), including bike transport, free access to the 3-Länder Enduro Trails, as well as free use of public transport and further discounts in the region.

The Gravity Card is a season pass for mountain bikers, offering unlimited access to 32 of Europe’s leading bike parks (including those in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Poland). With just one ticket, you can access all participating bike parks and enduro trails without having to pay an additional entry fee at each location.

Yes, there is accommodation right next to the slopes. The Haideralm is situated at an altitude of 2,200 metres, right next to the top station, and offers direct access to the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area.

The Haideralm has a total of nine shared rooms, accommodating up to 46 people.

IHalf-board is included when staying overnight at the Haideralm. This includes a breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10:00 am and a three-course evening meal from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
