Getting to your next mountain adventure is easy. Whether you travel by car, train, bus or plane, the Schöneben-Haideralm ski, biking and hiking area at Lake Reschen is easy to reach. Here you'll find all the information you need about getting here, parking and our location.

Over the Reschen Pass

Coming from the north, you can easily reach the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, biking and hiking area via Innsbruck, Landeck and the Reschen Pass. This route takes you to Reschen and St. Valentin auf der Haide.

Over the Brenner Pass

Via the Brenner Pass and the A22 motorway, you’ll travel via Bozen/Bolzano and Meran/Merano to the MEBO expressway. You then follow the Vinschgau main road towards Obervinschgau as far as the valley stations.

About the Ofen Pass

From Switzerland, you can reach the area via the Ofen Pass, the Münstertal valley and Taufers in Münstertal. You then follow the Vinschgau state road to Reschen.

Good to know

As in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, reflective safety vests are also compulsory in Italy. On motorways and roads outside built-up areas, dipped headlights must be used during the day as well. In towns and larger settlements, parking is only permitted in designated areas. Paid short-stay parking spaces are generally marked with blue lines.

If travelling via Austria, a motorway vignette is always required on motorways and expressways.

The Schöneben-Haideralm ski, biking and hiking area is easy to reach by bus. Regular services run from Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol, as well as within the Reschensee holiday region, to the valley stations in Reschen and St. Valentin auf der Haide. In winter, there’s also a free ski bus available.

Good to know:
Guests staying at member establishments in the Reschensee holiday region will receive the Reschensee Guest Pass. This allows you to use public transport throughout South Tyrol free of charge.

Das Ski-, Bike- und Wandergebiet Schöneben-Haideralm erreichst du auch mit dem Flugzeug. Von den nächstgelegenen Flughäfen erreichst du den Vinschgau mit Shuttle-, Bus- oder Mietwagenangeboten.

Free parking is available at the valley stations of the Piz-Schöneben gondola in Reschen and the Haideralm cable car in St. Valentin auf der Haide. It is also possible to stay overnight at the Piz-Schöneben car park in Reschen. In this case, you will need to pay the visitor’s tax; you can register at the ticket office.

Overnight stays are also permitted in the Piz-Schöneben car park in Reschen:

  • Per hour: € 1.50
  • Day ticket (24 hours): € 25.00
  • 3-day ticket: € 50.00
  • Weekly ticket: € 80.00

Overnight parking is not permitted at the valley station in St. Valentin auf der Haide.

You can easily reach the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area by car, train or bus. Take the Vinschgau railway to Mals station; bus routes 273 and 276 depart from there. In addition, a free ski bus runs daily during the winter. You can reach the area by car via the Reschen Pass or the Vinschgau national road.

Winter
The ski lifts to the Schöneben-Haideralm ski area are open daily from early December to mid-April, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Summer
The lifts to the Schöneben-Haideralm cycling and hiking area are open daily from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm during the summer, from the end of May to mid-October.

Yes, free parking is available at both valley stations of the Schöneben-Haideralm skiing, cycling and hiking area. It is also possible to stay overnight at the Piz-Schöneben car park in Reschen. In this case, you will need to pay the visitor’s tax; you can register at the ticket office. The following rates apply:
